Badminton at Elsie Allen High School is a coed, spring sport that is great for any student from beginner to star athlete. The Elsie Allen Badminton Team starts in February and ends at the beginning of May. We practice daily during our season through conditioning, drills and play. Students work together and have the opportunity to specialize in singles or doubles. We play all five district high schools as well as high school teams from Petaluma, Windsor and Analy.
Our team has a combined GPA of over 3.25 and over half the players take Honors and AP classes. We also attract many students from Dance and Music classes. Currently the coaches include Jay Meyer, Elsie Allen P.E. teacher, Sarah Clarke Stewart, Elsie Allen Social Science teacher and Stan Bischof, a coach with over 20 years experience.

Sarah Clarke Stewart This is my sixth year at Elsie Allen where I teach Government and Economics. I received my teaching credentials in Social Studies and English from Chico State and a Masters in Teacher Leadership from Saint Mary’s College in Moraga, CA. I love living in Sonoma County and got married in November 2013. I thought I was too shy to ever be able to teach in front of a group. Now I do the freshman orientation presentation in front of 400 people. I have many roles on campus including Team Leader, Link Crew Coordinator, Badminton Coach and Teacher Mentor.
Jay Meyer This is my first year teaching Physical Education and coaching at Elsie Allen. I am a big sports enthusiast and passionately dedicated to helping others maintain a healthy and active lifestyle. My favorite part about coaching is creating positive relationships with my players and being able to watch them continually improve and grow as individuals throughout the season. I want my players to feel as though they are part of a team and culture that values them as an individual and cares about their happiness and success.
